Ray’s Storm Vlog #1

This entry is part 1 of 2 in the series Ray's Storm

I am making a new series about my training of the OTTB gelding, Ray’s Storm. He is owned and loved by Maureen McKenzie, from Palmer Alaska. After a 3000 mile trip down south, at the beginning of May, he is now in full training with me to be the best event horse he can be!

This is the first time in a LONG time that a horse has reminded me of my beloved, Blueprint. Blue was one in a million, quirky and seemed to be part Arab in his brain and body. He was trainable, talented and spectacular to ride to a big, giant jump. I get the same vibe from Ray. So far, Ray is not a headshaker and part blind… so that is a bonus. However, any OTTB is a unknown gift wrapped package. Who knows what is in there, until you put in the time to teach them? Ray is exciting and I am quickly falling in love with him.

I hope you like the Vlog.

I remember Blue – actually my last memory of him was from Southern Pines. You and he whipped around the jump standard and jumped a 3’6″ fence from a near standstill. Vivid memory of a wonderful horse and talented rider.
