Meet the Trainers

Meika Decher

Head Trainer

Meika has been involved with horses for a majority of her life. She inherited the love of horses from her mother, Mary Decher, who also rode from a very young age. Ponies and 4-H programs taught Meika the basics of horsemanship and it wasn’t until the Decher family moved to Germany, that she was introduced to dressage and eventually, eventing.

Meika started riding at the Advanced level in 1999 and has had several fantastic horses, such as Blueprint, Goldfinch and Good Deal Lucille. She was selected to ride with the USET’s Developing Rider Team for 2 years with Blueprint. Having completed in her career, to date, 6 CCI***, 4 CCI**** and half of Rolex CCI*****, all long format. She is still aiming high with her current horses, Archie McPhee, Verily and Oiselle NW..

As owner and head trainer at Polestar Farm, she aims to provide personalized training programs while also catering to each horse’s needs.

Allyson Green

Assistant Trainer

Allyson is an accomplished three day event rider and trainer, competing on the NAYRC 1* and 2* team and coaching upper level students through many wins. Allyson started working for Amy Tryon, Olympic three day eventing competitor, in 2002. She was fortunate enough to travel east and to California with Amy for many years to compete her own horses while maintaining her position as groom. She groomed for Amy at the 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games, 2006 World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Burghley, Blenheim, Gatcombe, Blair Castle, Fair Hill, Fox Hall and numerous Kentucky Three-day’s. During her time with Amy, Allyson realized her passion was in teaching, bringing up young horses and watching her clients be successful. As she no longer has aspirations to compete nationally or have horses at the top level, she is able to focus all of her time and knowledge on producing young horses and giving her clients personalized programs.
